Watch to learn an easy way to physically release stress from your body!
In order to improve your balance, you must challenge it! Play around with the position of your feet, the surface you are standing on, and working with your eyes open or closed to give yourself a challenge!
Even in fitness and good health, we can get stuck in pitfalls and not take care of ourselves holistically. Embracing your childishness, getting goofy and wiggly can be good for your health! Good for your mood (have you ever felt stressed while being silly?), good for your vestibular system and balance, good for integrated, total body fitness.
The benefits of slow, deep breathing are many. It lowers blood pressure, turns off our stress response, gets us out of "fight or flight" and puts us into "rest and digest," and more. But not everyone knows how to breath with their diaphragm properly. Watch the video to learn a test you can easily do on yourself to see if you are getting the most bang for your buck while breathing!

Reading the book How To Do The Work by Nicole LePera got me nerding-out over the mind-body connection. She is a mental health therapist, and I heard so many echos of what I've learned from pain neuroscience while she approached holistic health from the mental health point of view. She describes herself as a Holistic Psychologist, and I like to think of myself as a Holistic Physical Therapist. It was entertaining to see the other side of the same coin through her perspective.
