Flourish Physical Therapy & Wellness
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, and a certification in vestibular rehabilitation (vertigo specialty). Offering 60 minute, 1-on-1 visits, I have a new approach, a new way to pay, and a new vision for physical therapy. I use a neuroscience-based, holistic approach, respecting and addressing the mind-body connection. My goal is to empower people to take charge of their own health, so I give you all the tools to succeed.
I provide personalized education about your body and pain issues to guide you on a path to relief and improved function. Whether you suffer from an acute injury, chronic pain, vertigo or desire a preventative wellness visit, I can help! I use the Epley maneuver, manual therapy - including Strain Counterstrain and IASTM - therapeutic exercise, guided meditation, and mindfulness training and more to get you relief.
As a cash-based physical therapy clinic, you will never get a surprise bill from me! Prices are negotiated up front, and are often comparable to your in-network copay. By working outside of insurance, we have total freedom to treat you as you need and deserve to be treated. Call for details. Pay up front with the option to get reimbursed from your insurance via out-of-network benefits. I accept all major credit cards, HSA or FSA cards, checks or cash. I do bill insurance on MVA claims.
Dr. Sarah is certified in vestibular rehab through The American Institute of Balance. She specializes in treating vertigo, cervical dizziness, BPPV, vestibular dysfunction, PPPD/3PD, and post-concussion syndrome. Whether you need the Epley maneuver, or habituation and adaptation exercises, you can work with me to clear your head and improve your balance!
I use a novel approach to chronic pain, utilizing the latest research from the field of neuroscience. Pain is more complex than many in the medical community give it credit for. With my Pain Neuroscience Education approach, you will learn about your pain, what it really is and what it isn't, in order to improve your function and quality of life. In addition to traditional physical therapy treatments, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, I offer guided meditation, mindfulness education and practice, progressive muscle relaxation, personalized sleep hygiene and journaling practice to empower you on your own journey toward better health and function.
I can provide your PT Annual Wellness Exam. We can work on a Fall Prevention Program, General Fitness & Endurance Program, or goal-specific training. I offer programs to prevent osteoporosis and falls. Feeling a bit off, achy, creaky, or just plain weak and fatigued? Let's work on it together before it becomes a bigger issue.
Dr. Sarah graduated with her BA in Psychology and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Marquette University in 2008 and 2010 respectively. She has been practicing physical therapy in the outpatient orthopedic field for the last 11 years, continually learning and staying up on the latest research. She is honored to get to meet people and have such an intimate role in their lives to bring about healing. She incorporates the whole person into her treatment approach, getting to know more than just their body parts. She believes each person is unique and has specific factors in their lives that contribute to their experience of pain. She is especially passionate about treating people in pain and helping them regain enjoyment out of their life!
She opened Flourish PT & Wellness in August of 2020 and is excited to operate under a different model of care. Working independently means no more productivity standards or corporate bosses calling the shots. Likewise, operating out-of-network with all insurances means that red tape is a thing of the past here at Flourish. Dr. Sarah is able to provide specific, personal, unique, individualized care to each patient that comes in the door. She can work on any and every problem area without needing new referrals, and has the freedom to get creative and even take treatments on the road! Do you want to improve your jogging form? You can work with Dr. Sarah at the Hart Field track, which is practically in Flourish's back yard. Dr. Sarah is passionate about helping people find relief and return to fully functioning lives, and working on her own allows her to do just that.
Dr. Sarah became certified in vestibular rehabilitation in 2017 through The American Institute of Balance. She has had great success in treating people with acute and chronic dizziness or balance issues. Often, full resolution of dizziness can happen with one treatment session!
Dr. Sarah moved to Spokane in 2010 after graduating, and met her husband within the year. They have now been married for 8 years and have two beautiful children. She enjoys getting outside as much as possible, whether it's hiking, snow shoeing, biking, camping or visiting the many local parks with her kids. She and her husband are also board game aficionados.
